It was an honor to host the ZEISS LSM 990 Confocal Workshop, in collaboration with ZEISS Microscopy and IMBB’s Mentoring and Career Track Scheme, at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
The latest confocal imaging capabilities
From 15–17 June, more than 60 researchers from IMBB-FoRTH and the University of Crete came together for hands-on training, scientific exchange, and an in-depth demonstration of the latest confocal imaging capabilities, using a fully equipped LSM 990 system featuring a Spectral Detector, lasers at 405, 445, 488, 514, 561, 594, 639, and 739 nm, as well as Airyscan and Lightfield 4D technologies.
On-site sample analysis
Participants had the opportunity to work with their own samples, including biological and material samples, for on-site analysis and take part in small-group sessions, gaining practical experience across both standard and advanced workflows under the guidance of Gerry Sexton, ZEISS Microscopy’s Application Specialist, and ANTISEL’s expert team.
Special thanks
We would like to sincerely thank all participants, trainers, and collaborators for contributing, as well as to Mr. Ioannis Vontas, Mr. Anastasios Pavlopoulos, Mr. Christos Delidakis, Ms. Marina Ioannou, and Ms. Aggela Pasparaki from IMBB for their collaboration.
